Yulia Putintseva has issued another statement defending herself from the criticism and backlash that has come her way following a US Open incident as she insists she got to know the ball girl in question and that little Kate accepted her apology and accepted that she didn’t to be mean or anything like that towards her.
Last week, the Russian tennis player went viral after footage on social media showed her ignoring a ball girl tossing the balls in her direction. It happened during a moment of frustration – and the crowd wasn’t happy about it – instantly starting to boo the 29-year-old.
Not only that Putintseva received some pretty strong criticism from fans, but she also saw a couple of notable names from the tennis community blast her over the incident. The biggest name to publicly criticize the three-time WTA champion was Boris Becker, who slammed her actions as “terrible.”
