WWE heads to Australia for the first time since 2018 for its Elimination Chamber event on February 24. The event in Perth airs on Peacock in the U.S.
One of the main matches on the card features Aussie Rhea Ripley defending the Women’s World Title against Nia Jax. Their feud started in 2023 at Crown Jewel when Ripley held onto her title in a multi-person match that included Jax. Jax went on to assault Ripley every chance she got after, the latter had enough, and the fight was on.
The event is in Optus Stadium, an outdoor arena that holds up to 70,000 people. Ripley won gold at WrestleMania 39 last year in front of over 67,000 passionate fans in California. She believes the atmosphere in her backyard could top that.
“I’m very excited to hear exactly how loud everyone can be in that stadium. I think it’s going to be insane,” Ripley told The West Sport via Wrestling Inc. “It was really loud at [Wrestle]Mania, but to know that I’m going to be home, and this is the first time that I’ve been able to compete here for WWE, I think it’s going to be a very good reaction. I’m excited.”
