WTA player applauds Novak Djokovic for ‘bravingly’ calling out ATP over award snub

Romanian tennis player Andreea Prisacariu applauded Novak Djokovic for publicly revealing his true feelings after his coach Goran Ivanisevic missed out on the ATP Coach of the Year award. After the ATP announced that Jannik Sinner’s coaches Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi won the 2023 ATP Coach Player of the Year award, Djokovic – who made all four Grand Slam finals this year and won three Slams – made it clear he felt that coach Ivanisevic was the one who should have won the award.

The ATP Coach of the Year is voted for by ATP coaches.“Congratulations to Darren and Simone for a great season with Jannik. Goran, I guess we need to win 4/4 Slams in order for you to maybe (just maybe) be considered coach of the year.

Winning Year End #1, 3 GS [Grand Slams] and the World Tour Finals and making history of this sport is not enough, my dear coach,” Djokovic wrote on his Instagram Story after Ivanisevic missed out on the Coach of the Year award.
