WTA Finals 2023 prize money: How much winner earns, total prize pool for Mexico tournament

The best eight female tennis players in the world descend on Mexico for the curtain call event of the WTA Tour season.

The group stage of the WTA Finals got under way on Sunday, October 29 and will feature a round robin format, with the tournament finishing on Sunday, November 5. Two singles matches are played each day, with the semifinals being played on Saturday, November 4 and the final the following day.

But what about the winner of the event and the total prize pot at stake?

The Sporting News explores how much prize money the winner will get, and the amounts all the other players will take home.

WTA Finals: How much prize money does the winner earn?

Players are awarded a base amount for playing in each match, with bonuses on offer if they win. The maximum a player can earn is $3.024m if they go undefeated at the WTA Finals en route to wining the singles title. 

In terms of the rest of the singles, players get a $198,000 participation fee, plus $198,000 for each win in the round robin stage.
