The Women’s PGA Championship, the third women’s major of the year, is set to kick off at the Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Washington, this Thursday.
Nine past champions of the major are set to compete, including 2023 champion Ruoning Yin, 13-time LPGA Tour champion Brooke Henderson and current world No. 1 Nelly Korda. Seventeen 2024 LPGA Tour rookies will also be teeing off. This is the second time Sahalee Country Club has hosted the tournament, the first time since 2016.
The first two majors of the season have had thrilling finishes, as Korda captured the second major at the Chevron Championship, her sixth LPGA win this season. Yuka Saso won her second U.S. Women’s Open title at the Lancaster Country Club. Rose Zhang, Atthaya Thitikul and Lilia Vu will also be players to watch.
The Women’s PGA Championship also marks the final qualifying event for the Olympic women’s golf competition, with many players on the cusp and looking to qualify for Paris with a solid performance at Sahalee.
