Women’s Final Four picks: Iowa vs. South Carolina, LSU vs. Virginia Tech

After 60 games, we’ve finally made it to Dallas. There have been upsets, dominant performances, come-from-behind victories, wild buckets, disappointing losses, overtime wins and last-second shots. And there’s still more to come.

My record of picking against the spread is 34-26. I’ve taken some risks on more than a few picks and have missed on some close spread calls. Sometimes the ball sails through the net, sometimes it hits the rim and bounces off. That’s basketball.

Here are the Final Four matchups and my picks against the spread.

But first: If you’re unfamiliar with betting numbers, the general idea is you subtract whatever the number is from the score, and that should make it even. So “LSU (-1.5)” basically means the Tigers should win by two points against Virginia Tech. The .5 allows you to pick a side, so there are no ties. In short, the team with the “-” number next to it is giving the other team that much of a lead in this figurative world. If “PK” is listed, it means the teams are rated even strength and it’s a straight win or loss pick.
