Women’s college basketball power rankings: Notre Dame rises with triple-double threat Olivia Miles

Six weeks into the season, we’re about to learn a lot more about the best teams in the country with the start of conference play, provided injuries don’t have an outsized effect on the available lineups. Grace Berger, Azzi Fudd and Ashley Owusu are still missing in action for top-10 teams, and Tamari Key is out for the season.

The good news is that Rori Harmon is back after missing Texas’ first five games, and Aijha Blackwell teased an imminent return for Baylor. In the meantime, plenty of other players around the country have delivered outstanding individual performances. Let’s check in on some of those in this week’s power rankings.

Olivia Miles is officially the Notre Dame triple-double queen. Her third triple-double in the Irish’s win over Merrimack puts Miles past Skylar Diggins-Smith and Jackie Young, each of whom registered two apiece in their Notre Dame careers. Miles is only a sophomore, but that is tremendous company to be in as she builds her college legacy and looks forward to a pro career.

Miles’ pace has been the driving factor behind Notre Dame’s success this season. Her ability to continually push the tempo throughout a game sets up her and her teammates for easy baskets….
