Women’s college basketball mailbag: What’s wrong with Tennessee and UNC?

It’s nearly 2024 and you know what that means: Time to reflect on the year that was and look to the year that will be. In 2023, we saw women’s college basketball smash ratings records in the national title game as multiple college players became household names. As we look to 2024, hope abounds that this March and April will somehow find a way to top that. Given the intrigue and questions swirling in the sport, I think we’re on track for that.

So, let’s discuss some of those big questions, ponder the future stars and reflect on what we’ve seen thus far. Happy mailbag day!

How do you think the PAC-12 standings will end up? With so many highly ranked teams, will one or two teams stand tall (if so, which one/s), or do you see them beating up on each other? — Laura W.

The Pac-12 tournament is going to be an absolute blast, and if you have a chance, you should go. Please note: This is said by someone who genuinely doesn’t enjoy Vegas. At all. Alas.
