WNBA: Shorthanded Dallas Wings take on Chicago Sky once again

The Dallas Wings (1-0) host the Chicago Sky (0-1) for the second consecutive game to begin the 2024 WNBA regular season this Saturday, May 18. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBA TV.

The Wings earned their first win of the season on Wednesday, outlasting the Sky for an 87-79 victory. Though Dallas got off to a sluggish start, it outscored Chicago 47-36 in the second half and 14-4 in the final three minutes, using advantages in the paint and off the dribble to begin its 2024 campaign on a high note.

Saturday, the two teams will meet again, though the Wings will be missing a significant portion of their frontcourt this time around. The team announced that forward Natasha Howard, who averaged 16.5 points and eight rebounds per game in 2023 and recorded 15 points and 13 rebounds on Wednesday, will miss the next three to six weeks with a broken foot. Howard will join forwards Satou Sabally (shoulder) and Jaelyn Brown (nose) on the sidelines; Dallas signed forward Monique Billings to an emergency hardship contract as a temporary replacement.
