WNBA rescinds second technical foul on Angel Reese that resulted in ejection vs. Liberty

Date:

The WNBA rescinded the second technical foul called on Angel Reese during Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty, which resulted in the first ejection of her pro career, a league spokesperson confirmed Wednesday.

Reese, who was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Sky’s 88-75 loss to the Liberty, received a double technical foul after waving her arm at an official to dispute a personal foul called against her.

Reese’s first technical foul was for “disrespectfully” addressing official Charles Watson, lead official Maj Forsberg told a pool reporter after the game. Reese’s second tech, according to Forsberg, was for waving her hand “in resentment to” the first call.

“Since these were two separate acts, the combination of two technicals resulted in Angel Reese being ejected from the game,” Forsberg said in the pool report.

The WNBA fines players $200 for each of their first three technical fouls of the season. With the reversal of her second technical foul, Reese will now pay $200 for one tech instead of $400 for both.
