WNBA: New York Liberty aim to stay undefeated against Chicago Sky

On Thursday evening, the undefeated New York Liberty face off against the Chicago Sky (7 p.m. ET) before the Phoenix Mercury take on the Washington Mystics (10 p.m. ET). Both games are available on Prime Video.


The Queens of New York

No team in the league is playing better than the Liberty right now. Breanna Stewart is leading the charge offensively, averaging 19.8 points, Jonquel Jones is dominating the boards, grabbing 9.5 per game and Sabrina Ionescu is dishing out an average of six dimes.

New York has won all four games and will be heavy favorites on Thursday when they face the up-and-coming Sky. Chicago split their first two games versus the Dallas Wings and have had exciting moments with their rookie phenom Angel Reese shining both on and off the court.

A Sky victory on Thursday would be a surprise, but they did trounce the Liberty in the preseason 101-53, so maybe there’s a chance that they can pull off the upset.

Can Washington get a win?

The Mystics are struggling, having lost all four games, including to the then-winless Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday. Ariel Atkins has been an elite defender and great scorer, leading the team with an average of 14 points per game, but it just hasn’t been enough to muster a positive result.
