Anticipation for the 2025 WNBA season hits another gear with Monday’s WNBA Draft.
Eight days after a women’s NCAA champion was crowned, some of the biggest names in the game will learn where their professional careers will begin. They’ll then head to their new basketball homes to begin training camp at the end of the month.
UConn’s Paige Bueckers is expected to go first overall to Dallas, but that is the lone certainty of this draft cycle. With a group of elite college prospects electing to return to school for the 2025-26 season, there was a late shake-up in pre-draft preparations, causing some players’ names to move up in draft conversations.

Just as every year that has a consensus No. 1 pick, the draft unofficially begins at No. 2 with the Seattle Storm, while the Washington Mystics will look to accelerate their rebuild with three picks in the top 12.
After Bueckers, fans will want to familiarize themselves with 19-year-old French prospect Dominique Malonga, viewed by many as the second-best prospect in the class. Among other college stars to watch out for are USC’s Kiki Iriafen, LSU’s Aneesah Morrow, TCU’s Hailey Van Lith and Kentucky’s Georgia Amoore.
