Three short months after the epic 2023 WNBA Finals series between the Aces and Liberty wrapped, we move one step closer to the 2024 WNBA season with the official start of free agency.
Teams can begin discussions with available free agents on Sunday, Jan. 21 but contracts cannot be signed until Thursday, Jan. 1. These dates are important to know as the 2024 offseason period can mark a shift in power among teams looking to dethrone the back-to-back champs in Las Vegas.
Among notable free agents that could be on the move in 2024 are two-time MVP Elena Delle Donne and six-time All-Star Skylar Diggins-Smith, who appears ready to move on from Phoenix after a dispute that began while she was on maternity leave.
