WNBA Finals 2023 live score: Liberty vs. Aces updates, highlights, results from Game 4

Date:

Let’s be honest, we didn’t think the WNBA Finals would reach a Game 4.

Las Vegas blew out New York in Games 1 and 2, winning by a combined total of 45 points. It seemed as though the Aces were going to sweep for their second straight championship but behind Jonquel Jones’s 27 points, the Liberty earned their first Finals win since 1999. It was a historic night in Barclays Center, as 17,143 fans packed the area for the largest gate attendance ever in the WNBA Finals.

Now, it’s time for New York to tie the series up at two-a-piece. Unfortunately for the Aces, it’s highly possible.

Chelsea Gray, last year’s Finals MVP, left the game with what seems to be a foot injury. Becky Hammon has confirmed she will not be available for Game 4 along with Kiah Stokes, who was seen on crutches Tuesday. The Aces are in big trouble without two major defenders of their six contributing players.

Momentum has shifted to the other side, but it’ll have to shift even more. The odds are still against New York; no team has come back from 0-2 to win the WNBA Championship. Should the series go to a deciding Game 5, it will be played in Las Vegas, a place that the Liberty clearly struggle in.
