For the second-straight year, the Indiana Fever won the WNBA Draft Lottery and, in turn, the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft.
In mid-April, will Cathy Engelbert call the name of Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink or another player, sending her to Indianapolis to partner with 2023 No. 1 pick and Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston, who served as Indiana’s lottery representative?
If it was up to us, we’d select Clark—presuming Iowa’s newly-minted 3,000-point scorer opts to turn pro—in hopes of creating a devastating pick-and-roll pairing with the 2023 and 2024 top picks.
The Los Angeles Sparks will select second, followed by the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm. The rest of the first round, which was determined before Sunday afternoon’s lottery, is:
5. Dallas Wings (from Chicago Sky)
6. Washington Mystics
7. Minnesota Lynx
8. Atlanta Dream
9. Dallas Wings
10. Connecticut Sun
11. New York Liberty
12. Los Angeles Sparks (from Las Vegas Aces)
