The 2023 WNBA All-Star Weekend tipped off on Friday with the Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest from Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
Some of the league’s brightest stars took the court to showcase their skills on the hardwood as well as their sharpshooting ability.
The hometown Team Aces (Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum) took the top prize in the Skills Challenge to begin the afternoon after posting times of 45.9 and 46.0 seconds. They took down Team Wings and Team Liberty to be crowned 2023 champions.
In the second competition of the day, Sabrina Ionescu lit up the 3-Point Contest with a stunning score of 37 points in the final round to take the title. That score, which included 14 straight made shots, is the highest in 3-Point Contest history — NBA or WNBA.
The Sporting News was tracking all the results and highlights from the two events below.
