The Las Vegas Aces, the reigning WNBA champions, have added to their championship credentials. Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady acquired a minority stake in the team whose majority owner is Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis.
“I have always been a huge fan of women’s sports, and I admire the work that the Aces’ players, staff, and the WNBA continue to do to grow the sport and empower future generations of athletes,” Brady said in a statement. “To be able to contribute in any way to that mission as a member of the Aces organization is an incredible honor.”
Brady attended an Aces game in May 2022 and sent gifts to star Kelsey Plum. Plum and other Aces players were excited to have Brady as part of the team.
The record-breaking future Pro Football Hall of Famer joins an impressive list of athletes who also own parts of sports franchises.
The Broncos’ ownership group added racing royalty in August 2022. Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has a stake with the Walton-Penner group, which purchased the team in June 2022.
