Wings bring back veteran guard Odyssey Sims

Date:

The Dallas Wings signed veteran guard Odyssey Sims on Tuesday, cutting forward Morgan Bertsch to make room.

Sims, 31, agreed to a salary cap hardship contract following last week’s injury to Maddy Siegrist (broken finger).

A Dallas area native, Sims played for the Wings last season and posted 2.0 points and 2.2 assists in 28 games off the bench.

Sims was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft by the then-Tulsa Shock and transitioned to Dallas in 2016.

The 2019 All-Star has career averages of 11.1 points, 3.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 268 games (180 starts) with five organizations.

Bertsch, 27, appeared in three games off the Wings’ bench this season and totaled one point and five rebounds.
