Not only the end of the ban for Russian and Belarusian tennis players. Wimbledon 2023 will also present players with some new features compared to the past. The format of the men’s doubles is going changes. Like the other Grand Slam tournaments, it will be played to the best of three sets instead of the classic best of five.
Off-court coaching, which has been adopted throughout the Tour for a year’s trial, will be permitted on the hallowed lawns of Church Road. Barclays enters as official sponsor on behalf of the Wimbledon Foundation. Along with Evian, water bottles will be provided to the players, and water dispensers will be installed on the pitch to fill them.
The goal is to become Environment Positive by 2030. A change to the white clothing rule was announced at the end of last year, allowing female tennis players to wear medium/dark colored shorts. The proposal made by the WTA was therefore confirmed.
The rules already in force for the use of other clothing and accessories remain unchanged.
