This strong soccer culture was easily seen in the support Bay FC received since its beginning. According to All For XI, Bay FC’s inaugural home match had a sold-out crowd of 18,000. Finally, after many years, the Bay Area had its own team. Previously, there was The San Jose Cyberrays in WUSA, which was followed by FC Gold Pride in the Women’s Professional Soccer league (WPS). However both leagues folded.
