Who will be the next head coach of the Indiana Fever?

The Indiana Fever announced on Sunday that Christie Sides is out as the head coach of the franchise. This comes after two seasons at the helm where Sides posted a 33-47 regular season record and helped the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016.

Making this decision while things are seemingly on the up for the team makes the intentions of the Fever franchise clear, they want the best and they want to win now behind Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell.

Sides felt as if she was really growing into the role as a first-time head coach. However, reports from Annie Costabile have been spelling out that Connecticut Sun head coach Stephanie White is interested in making a move. 

Why Stephanie White makes sense

White has been heralded as one of the top coaches in the entire league, earning herself the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year award, and is incredibly familiar with the Fever.  White was on the staff from 2011-2016, with 2015-2016 being in the main seat as head coach. White is also an Indiana native, played college ball at Purdue, and played for the Fever from 2000-2004.
