The 2025 WNBA preseason is winding down, with teams aiming to build out the rest of their roster for the 2025 season. Among the preseason games slated for Saturday is an anticipated matchup between the Wings and the Toyota Antelopes.
Hailing from Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, the Toyota Antelopes are a part of the Women’s Japan Basketball League (WJBL). The Antelopes have won the WJBL title twice — during the 2020-21 and the 2021-22 seasons. One of its players, Mai Yamamoto, is currently on a training camp contract with the Wings. The Antelopes are also slated to take on the Liberty this preseason.
The Wings look to conclude their preseason on a high note, having lost to the Aces, 112-78, to open up the 2025 preseason slate. During the loss, Paige Bueckers was among the four Wings players who scored in double digits (10). JJ Quinerly led all Dallas scorers with 16 points.
Back in 2024, Dallas and the Antelopes announced a partnership between the two teams that will allow both clubs to learn more about the WNBA and the WJBL, respectively. This is the first-ever game between these two teams.
