No. 1 Northwestern will begin its quest for back-to-back NCAA titles in a rematch of last year’s national semifinals against No. 12 Denver on Sunday afternoon.
In the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship, the Wildcats defeated the fifth-seeded Pioneers, 15-7, en route to capturing the program’s eighth title. Izzy Scane tallied six goals and two assists to pace Northwestern in the victory.

Scane marshaled Northwestern (15-2) to another impressive regular season and a Big Ten Tournament title.
Before it could aim for revenge against Northwestern, Denver had to take down No. 17 Stanford, advancing to the second round with a thrilling 13-12 victory.
