The moment everyone’s been waiting for has nearly arrived – Caitlin Clark is about to make her WNBA debut.
Before the Fever officially kick off their season, they’ll play two preseason games. Indiana first takes the court Friday, May 3 against Dallas. A handful of the best rookies will take their first steps as pros, including Clark, Jacy Sheldon and more.
It might just be a preseason game, but the event will tell teams the final details they need to know before the regular season: the starters, the pace and style of play and unfortunately the final roster cuts. Each franchise as a roster cap of 12 players, so the Wings will need to cut four players and the Fever will need to cut three before the first official game of the season. With the WNBA becoming more and more competitive, these preseason matchups are more important than ever.
There’s no doubt that for Indiana, it’s about a new era. Clark and Aaliyah Boston, the two latest No. 1 draft picks, combine with vets Kelsey Mitchel and Erica Wheeler for a chance at the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016. It all starts now.
To see it all begin, here’s everything to know about the Fever-Wings preseason game as well as how to see the rest of Clark’s rookie season.
