For the next two-plus weeks, the best women’s college basketball programs and players will traverse the nation as they vie for a chance to achieve their game’s most coveted feat — winning a championship.
The national title game is on April 7 in Cleveland, Ohio, where a singular victor will be crowned after the NCAA Tournament field is whittled down from an original 68 teams.
Two squads have already been sent home, with two more First Four games Thursday and first-round action Friday and Saturday.
Some of the competing teams — including regional hosts like No. 1 seeds South Carolina, Iowa, Southern California and Texas — won’t have to travel far. Others will make a coast-to-coast journey.
