The 2023 NCAA men’s soccer national championship will crown one team as this year’s title winner, the culmination of an entire season of hard work, effort, and adversity.
While respective conferences around the country have already crowned their regular season and tournament champions, the NCAA tournament will place one team up on a national pedestal as the best in the land.
This year has proven the difficulty of reaching the College Cup, as the top three ranked teams in men’s soccer all failed to reach this stage, as did each of last year’s two finalists, including defending champions Syracuse. No. 1 ranked Marshall fell in the third round to Stanford, while 2nd-ranked SMU also came up short at the same stage, and No. 3 Georgetown was downed even earlier.
Left standing are two ACC schools in No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 14 Clemson, plus fifth-ranked West Virginia out of the Sun Belt and unranked Oregon State, who shocked multiple top sides to prove the last Pac-12 team standing. Two of those four schools will emerge from the semifinals and meet to decide the national champion.
