The USL Super League is the new professional women’s soccer league coming this August 2024. It recently received Division I status from U.S. Soccer, which means it is the same division as the NWSL. The league will be considered a youth-to-pro pipeline to enhance youth competition and opportunities for women’s soccer players to play professionally. This inaugural season will feature eight teams from across the country and put them head to head-in competitive settings. Let’s take a look at the eight teams starting out in this brand-new league.
Brooklyn, New York
This team will be the first professional women’s soccer team to be based in Brooklyn. It will be part of the Brooklyn Football Club, a grassroots club in which the men’s side will compete in the USL Championship in 2025.
Carolina
The USL Super League Carolina, named Carolina Ascent FC, will be another exciting addition to the history of the USL SL. Their home games will be played at the American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, which was renovated in 2021. This team will be the western Carolinas’ first women’s professional team. The previous USWNT assistant coach, Philip Poole, will be leading the talented group of women this August.
