The National Women’s Soccer League is coming back. Yes, a bevy of Challenge Cup matches helped fill some idle time during the early stages of the World Cup, but the regular season is set to return next weekend. The table is tight which could lead to the most exciting playoff race the league has seen in its 10 regular seasons. Each team has but seven matches left to lock in or jump into a playoff spot. And to answer a burning question, there is no prearranged date for World Cup players to return to their clubs so each team and player will be working out their own arrangements.
Meanwhile, here are some storylines to follow from here through the NWSL Championship.
