Rivalries could come to an end while others are just getting started at WWE Payback on September 2. The event takes place at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh and airs on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network in the U.K.
After months of back and forth, Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus face off in a Steel Cage match. Stratus betrayed Lynch after WrestleMania, and the Hall of Famer has made it a point to humiliate the multi-time women’s champion at every opportunity. The Canadian is ready to beat Lynch with four sides of steel around her and move on.
“It’s a challenge. Am I a little scared of it? Yup, but that’s what drives me. I’m going to prove to Becky that I’m the greatest of this generation by beating the greatest of her generation,” Stratus told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette via 411Mania. “We’ve had a good little run and it’s been really fun. But it’s been a little long. I’m ready to move on, do other things, and cross paths with other people.”
Other matches feature The Judgement Day as Rhea Ripley defends the Women’s World Title against Raquel Rodriguez. Also, Finn Balor and Damian Priest challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles in a Street Fight.
