No. 1 Northwestern eyes back-to-back national titles while No. 2 Boston College hunts for redemption as the two women’s lacrosse powerhouses meet in the national championship game on Sunday afternoon.
Last year, the Wildcats trounced the Eagles, 18-6, to win the program’s eighth national title. Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor tore up Boston College, combining for 10 points on eight goals.
And that duo is still potent. In Northwestern’s 15-11 semifinal victory over Florida, the two players accounted for nine goals. Plus, in a 14-11 Wildcat victory in Chestnut Hill back in February, they combined for eight goals, with Scane notching five.

But the Eagles counter with their own All-American-caliber force in Virginia transfer Rachel Clark. Clark has tallied 12 goals thus far in Boston College’s NCAA Tournament run, including five against No. 3 Syracuse to vault the Eagles into the national title game.
Northwestern is hoping to become the first back-to-back winner since Maryland in 2014 and 2015. Boston College last won the national title in 2021.
