It’s time for Round 2 of Fever vs. Liberty.
Indiana and New York went head-to-head for the first time this season on Thursday. The Liberty easily handled the Fever, handing Indiana a 102-66 loss. Breanna Stewart proved why she’s the reigning MVP with a 31-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton set a new franchise record by posting a plus-43 in the box score.
Unfortunately for Indiana, the Liberty spoiled the Fever’s home opener with an incredible all-around performance. The Fever have lost their first two games by a total of 57 points, the largest point differential through a team’s first two games in WNBA history. No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark has struggled offensively in that stretch, shooting 30.4 percent from the field and 27.8 percent on 3-pointers.
But Clark and her teammates have a chance to get some revenge on Saturday night. Can Indiana bounce back in the rematch?
