For the 21st time, the IIHF Women’s World Championship comes down to Canada vs. the United States.
The North American rivals meet Sunday night in the gold-medal game of the 2023 tournament. Since the Women’s World Championship was introduced in 1990, the USA and Canada have played against one another for the gold medal every year with one exception, in 2019 when Finland stunned Canada in the semifinals.

Canada, led by captain Marie-Philipp Poulin, is aiming to win its third consecutive gold. It already has beaten the Americans once, a victory in the final game of pool play.
With Hilary Knight at the helm, the United States is looking to win gold at the tournament for the first time since 2019.
