The 2025 Six Nations Championship got underway on Friday, January 31, with France romping to a dominant win over last season’s wooden-spoon side Wales in Paris.
On tournament graphics, interview boards and beyond, fans will have noticed “M6N” featuring prominently.
At first glance, the logo looks like a new naming sponsor, but closer inspection reveals the name of Irish beer brand Guinness above M6N. Guinness has been the title partner of the Six Nations since 2018.
So, what does the new branding mean?

What does M6N stand for?
M6N is a simple initialism of “Men’s Six Nations”.
In December 2024, organisers announced the new branding, which was developed by creative agency and production company How Now, following “consultations with existing fans, players and Six Nations unions and federations” along with prospective new, younger audiences.
It is part of a unified brand identity across the Six Nations tournaments. The Women’s Six Nations will use W6N, with the Under-20 event going by U6N.
