The 2023 WNBA Draft is now behind us, so it’s time to look ahead to next year’s draft. The class could be one of the strongest in league history. Just look at the names available on Sabreena Merchant’s 2024 WNBA Draft big board, led by Iowa’s Caitlin Clark.

Diving deeper into what next year’s draft could bring, four WNBA general managers, an assistant general manager and one additional front office executive shared their thoughts with The Athletic of some of the top names in the class. On Thursday, we ran our survey on players like Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers and Kamilla Cardoso.

Most of these conversations occurred before the most recent NCAA Tournament and some players were on the fence about entering the draft or returning to college at the time. The executives were granted anonymity to allow them to speak openly. They shared their thoughts on what they’ve already gleaned from watching these prospects and what they want to see develop in their games during the 2023-24 college season.
