Caitlin Clark is a lot of things. She’s a long-range sharpshooter, an incredible ball handler, and a precision passer. 

While Clark may be a player of the year and all-time leading scorer, there is one important title missing from her resume: national champion. 

The discourse surrounding Clark’s status as one of, if not the, greatest women’s college basketball players of all time has ramped up plenty over the past month. Clark’s final year at Iowa has been incredibly successful, with the standout guard breaking a plethora of NCAA records and earning numerous accolades.

She has undoubtedly written herself into the NCAA history books with an illustrious career. However, when it comes to how Clark will be remembered, the topic of national championships is continuously being brought up, as some of her peers feel to cement her status as GOAT, she needs to bring a title back to Iowa City. 

Clark has a chance at wiping that argument out on Sunday when Iowa faces Dawn Staley and South Carolina. Staley, a former standout college hoops player herself, was asked about Clark’s legacy Saturday and gave her opinion on whether the Hawkeyes sensation needs a championship on her resume.
