Bringing an original “Big Four” PPV to Detroit for the first time since 2007, WWE looks to heat things up a notch at SummerSlam on August 5. The event takes place at Ford Field and airs on Peacock in the U.S.
Several title and grudge matches highlight a stacked card. Roman Reigns defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Title and his status as Tribal Chief against Jey Uso. The Bloodline recently imploded, with The Usos turning on Reigns. Jey, who had a feud with Reigns in 2020 before joining the group, was the first opponent to pin him in approximately three years.
In a rematch from Money in the Bank, Seth “Freakin'” Rollins defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against The Judgement Day’s Finn Balor. Balor beat Rollins at SummerSlam in 2016 for the Universal Title but injured himself following a Rollins powerbomb on the outside barricade.

Gunther attempts to break The Honky Tonk Man’s record of a single reign as Intercontinental Champion when he defends the belt against Drew McIntyre. Meanwhile, Asuka defends the WWE Women’s Title against Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair.
