The Virginia Tech Hokies and Miami Hurricanes face off in an ACC matchup Thursday night.
The Hokies have won seven consecutive games, including the past three against conference opponents. The Hurricanes lost two of their past three games, which were all against ACC teams.
Tech escaped its most recent game against No. 3 N.C. State thanks to a last-second layup from star center Elizabeth Kitley, who scored 27 points in the win. She leads her team with 20.9 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game.
Miami stormed back after it lost two consecutive games in conference play in a 30-point thrashing of Wake Forest on Sunday. Junior guard Jasmyne Roberts scored 21 points in the win, while fellow junior guard Shayeann Day-Wilson added nine points and sophomore guard Lemyah Hylton added 11 points off the bench.
Roberts averages 11.5 points per game for the Hurricanes on the year, with Day-Wilson chipping in 8.9 points per game and senior guard Jaida Patrick adding another 8.3 points.
While Kitley patrols the paint for Virginia Tech, senior guard Georgia Amoore and junior guard Matilda Ekh command the Hokies’ frontcourt. Amoore averages 17.4 points and 7.5 assists per game, while Ekh scores 10.4 points per game.
