Bueckers, UConn’s star guard, scored 26 points to steer the Huskies to an impressive win over North Carolina on Sunday. In the process, she became a 1,000-point scorer, reaching the threshold in just 55 career games. She tied Maya Moore as the quickest Husky to achieve that feat.
Bueckers and the 15th-ranked Huskies have been battle-tested early this season. Saturday’s matchup with No. 18 Louisville will mark their fifth time facing a top-25 opponent in their first 10 games.
