No. 1 Northwestern and No. 2 Boston College are set for a rematch of last year’s national title game when they meet in the 2024 NCAA women’s lacrosse championship game on Sunday afternoon.
In 2023, the top-seeded Wildcats defeated the third-seeded Eagles, 18-6, to win the program’s eighth national title.
Northwestern is in position to be the first back-to-back national champion since Maryland in 2014-15. The Wildcats held off Florida, 15-11, in their semifinal matchup on Friday; Izzy Scane and Madison Taylor combined for nine goals in the victory.

But Northwestern must first get through Boston College, a program out for redemption after losing in the national title game each of the last two seasons, on the heels of winning in 2021.
The Eagles took down No. 3 Syracuse on Friday, 10-7, behind a five-goal performance from Rachel Clark.
The two teams met in Chestnut Hill back in February, with the Wildcats earning a 14-11 victory.
