The 10th-ranked Texas women’s basketball team continues its rivalry with Kansas in a Big 12 matchup on Jan. 16.
The Longhorns are looking to bounce back from a 61-58 loss to No. 12 Kansas State. The setback dropped Texas to 16-2 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12.
Madison Booker led the Longhorns with 23 points. Booker is the only freshman in the country with three games of 20 or more points against ranked opponents. She tallied 20 points against No. 11 UConn and 25 points against No. 10 Baylor.
Aaliyah Moore scored 15 points on 5-of-10 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Moore was in the starting lineup for the first time since December 2022
Texas has won three consecutive games over Kansas.
The Jayhawks overcame an 11-point second half deficit and knocked off Oklahoma State, 70-64, on Saturday. Kansas picked up its second home win of the week, improving to 9-7 overall and 2-3 in the Big 12.
Four Jayhawks scored in double figures, with freshman S’Mya Nichols leading the way with 17 points. Holly Kersgieter added 16 points, while Zakiyah Franklin and Wyvette Mayberry each had 13 points. Franklin surpassed 1,700 career points for her career.
