Top overall seed South Carolina continues its perfect season into the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, where it will face the third-seeded Oregon State Beavers, who are fresh off an impressive Sweet 16 win against second-seeded Notre Dame.

OSU beat the Fighting Irish 70-65 with 40 points coming in the paint. Raegan Beers dominated underneath the basket with an 18-point, 13-rebound double-double in which she shot 75 percent from the field. Timea Gardiner also notched a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Gamecocks continued their dominance in a 79-75 win against No. 4 Indiana, at one point leading by as much as 22 points. Kamila Cardoso shot 10-for-12 from the field for 22 points. The bench contributed 23 points, but Cardoso led the way for South Carolina to cement 42 points in the paint.

South Carolina and Oregon State have met three times; the Gamecocks lead the series 2-1. They played most recently in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament, where South Carolina emerged victorious, 59-42. 

The Beavers last made it to the quarterfinals in 2018, and the Gamecocks are set to participate in their fourth consecutive Elite Eight, excluding 2020, when they were named de facto consensus champions.
