The top-ranked South Carolina women’s basketball team will look to keep rolling when the Gamecocks host SEC foe Kentucky on Monday.
South Carolina is one of the best shooting teams in the nation and has made more than 60 percent of its shots. The Gamecocks also have five players averaging double figures in scoring.
Kamilla Cardoso leads South Carolina with just over 13 points per game. The 6-7 center is also solid in the paint and grabs over 10 rebounds per game. Cardoso, a transfer from Syracuse, was an Honorable Mention All-America and Second-Team All-SEC last season.
Bree Hall is the steadying force, and shoots close to 50 percent from 3-point range.
MiLaysia Fulwiley is solid defensively with more than 21 steals and close to 20 blocked shots on the season.
Kentucky is having an uneven season and has hovered around .500 for much of the year.
The Wildcats are led by Ajae Petty, an LSU transfer who averages over 16 points per game. The senior forward averages just over 10 rebounds and has been called the one of the most improved players in the SEC.
Maddie Scherr is also a scoring threat and manages close to 15 points per game.
