As No. 2 Oklahoma hunts for a fourth consecutive Women’s College World Series title, the Sooners can punch their ticket to the WCWS finals with a win over Florida on Monday afternoon.
Oklahoma is undefeated in postseason play, having won all 10 of its games spanning the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA regionals, super regionals, and the WCWS. The Sooners narrowly kept that streak alive with a 1-0 victory over No. 6 UCLA on Saturday afternoon.
But should the fourth-seeded Gators win, then the two teams will meet again in an elimination game, to be played immediately afterward Monday.
Florida has already staved off elimination at the WCWS, defeating Alabama 6-4 on Sunday. Catcher Jocelyn Erickson drove in four runs, punctuated by a three-run home run, while Keagan Rothrock hurled a complete game.
