With one more win, Caitlin Clark and Iowa can officially defend their back-to-back Big Ten tournament titles in the conference championship game.
The No. 2 seed Hawkeyes reached the semifinals of the conference tournament with a dominant 95-62 win over Penn State. Five players, including Clark, scored in double digits in the all-around effort.
Clark also became the single-season 3-point leader for NCAA Division I with her 163rd career make. The record-breaking shot came after a slow start for the star senior, who missed her first 11 attempts from behind the arc.
In Saturday’s semifinal, Iowa will take on No. 6 seed Michigan for a place in the championship game. Michigan defeated No. 3 seed Indiana, 69-56, in the quarterfinals Friday night. The Hawkeyes bested the Wolverines in their lone matchup this season, a 106-89 win for Iowa on Feb. 15.
