The talent of the best women’s basketball players is unrivaled. And they’ll get to prove it in Unrivaled, a new 30-player 3-on-3 women’s professional basketball league set to launch in January 2025.
Co-founded by the New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart and the Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier, the league will consist of a 10-week season held in Miami, allowing top players to play domestically—and be well-compensated while doing so—during the WNBA offseason. The league, which will be player-owned with opportunities for equity, intends to offer the highest average salary for a women’s professional sports league.
The 30 participants, who will be announced this summer, will be divided into six 3-on-3 teams and play games on a compressed full court.
