Over the years, influencers have invaded the boxing world. YouTubers, doctors and OnlyFans stars created their own unique universe, which has brought in a new crowd outside even the casual boxing fan.
Occasionally, “proper” boxers have entered that world to attempt to shut the hype down. Tommy Fury’s goal is to end influencer boxing one fight at a time.
The half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Tommy faces KSI in the Manchester Arena on the latest MF & DAZN: X Series card on October 14. On DAZN PPV, it is the second event Fury has main-evented in his career.
Tommy’s last fight was against Jake Paul, a YouTuber who has become a disruptor within boxing. Paul has faced former NBA player Nate Robinson and several MMA fighters in the squared circle, including the legendary Anderson Silva. His last outing was a win against the violent Nate Diaz, known for his cardio.
Ranking YouTube boxers from “GOAT, Decent, Average, Poor and Retire,” he provided an honest opinion about Paul. “I think he’s average,” Fury said.
