Golden State Warriors legend and Basketball Hall of Famer Alvin Attles has died at the age of 87, the Warriors announced Wednesday. Attles, who was selected by the Philadelphia Warriors with the No. 39 pick in the 1960 NBA Draft and moved with the team to San Francisco, spent his entire 11-year playing career with the franchise.
“Alvin leaves behind a profound legacy within the game of basketball and the Bay Area community, but especially as a family man and humanitarian,” the Warriors said in a statement. “We mourn his loss alongside his wife, Wilhelmina, son Alvin, and all who knew and loved him.”
