Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 9 Virginia Falls 6-1 at No. 13 Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –  The No. 9 Virginia women’s tennis team (12-4, 5-2 ACC) dropped a match 6-1 at No. 13 Miami (10-3, 5-1 ACC) on Friday (March 24) at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

Elaine Chervinsky won the lone point for the Cavaliers, topping Audrey Boch-Collins 7-5, 7-5 on court four.

Miami won all three doubles courts to start the match 1-0. The Hurricanes picked up straight-set victories on the top three singles courts to clinch the match.

Sara Ziodato dropped her first set on court five in a tiebreaker, 7-5, against Mia Mack but rebounded with a 6-3 win in the second set. Mack took the super tiebreaker 10-6 to pick up the point.

Mélodie Collard played a very close match on court six. Collard won the first set 6-4 before Maya Tahan took the second by that same tally. Tahan edged Collard 10-8 in the super tiebreaker.

The Cavaliers close out the weekend playing at No. 35 Florida State (9-6, 2-3 ACC) on Sunday, March 26 at noon.
