Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 9 Virginia Closes Regular Season at No. 8 NC State and Wake Forest

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No. 9 Virginia women’s tennis team (16-4, 9-2 ACC) closes out the regular season with a pair of road matches at No. 8 NC State (18-4, 8-3 ACC) on Friday, April 14, at 3 p.m. and at No. 28 Wake Forest (14-11, 4-7 ACC) on Sunday, April 16, at 12 p.m.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • Virginia moved up to No. 9 in this week’s ITA team rankings
  • Virginia has won 10 of its last 11 matches
  • The Cavaliers are looking for their second win against a top-10 team this season on Friday at NC State. The Cavaliers topped No, 10 Duke 4-3 on Feb. 26
  • The Cavaliers are in third place in the conference standings with a 9-2 record heading into the final weekend of competition. NC State and Miami are tied for fourth at 8-3
  • Sara Ziodato has won her last four singles matches and is 23-10 this season to lead the team in singles victories
  • Natasha Subhash is 19-6 in singles this season, vying for the third 20-win season of her career
  • Subhash is ranked No. 60 in singles. Julia Adams is No. 55
  • Adams comes into the weekend with 98 doubles victories in her collegiate career. She is 27-9 this year in doubles
