Virginia Women’s Tennis | No. 8 Pepperdine Tops No. 7 Virginia 4-1

SEATTLE, Wash. –  The No. 7 Virginia women’s tennis team (5-2) suffered a 4-1 loss against No. 8 Pepperdine (3-1)  in a consolation match at the 2023 ITA National Team Indoor Championship being held at the Seattle Tennis Center in Seattle, Washington.

Pepperdine won the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The Waves took a 3-0 lead with straight-set victories on courts one and three. Freshman Annabelle Xu earned a point for UVA with a 6-1, 6-4 victory on court five.

The final three courts were all in third sets. Carolyn Campana won the clincher with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 win on court six.

Virginia closes out play by taking on No. 17 San Diego on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.
